Új kedvenc írót avattam Louise Bay személyében, a The Earl of London című könyvével teljesen megvett magának. Egyszerűen zseniális volt, minden jóság megvolt benne: céltudatos és erős főhősnő, elképesztő pasi, rengeteg romantikus pillanat, sok szenvedélyes jelenet, de ugyanakkor humorban sem volt hiány, és egy igazán szerethető cselekmény. Bízzatok benne, NAGYON akarjátok majd olvasni ezt a regényt.

Én az elejétől kezdve egészen az utolsó mondatig imádtam ezt a könyvet. Még mikor elkezdtem, akkor olyan kora este kezdtem neki az olvasásnak, és nem sokkal később már azt vettem észre, hogy hajnalodik, és már majdnem kényszerítettem magam, hogy hagyjam abba az olvasást és aludjak egy kicsit. Igen, így el lehet merülni benne. Logan és Darcy története egyszerűen imádnivaló. Már az első fejezetnél rákattantam.

„Money can’t buy you manners.”

The Earl of London (London grófja) nem más, mint Logan Steele. Egészen fiatalon hatalmas vagyonra tett szert, és mindezt saját magának köszönheti, saját maga szerezte meg mindezt. Ő a vezérigazgatója a Steele Enterprises nevű cégének, de ennél még egy picivel több is, erről a 'piciről' majd még később fogok írni. Intelligens, nagyon, de nagyon jóképű, és tudja, hogy mit akar. Jelenleg pedig vissza akarja vásárolni az egykor családja birtokában lévő telket, a Badsley House-t. Sajnos bizonyos okok miatt el kellett adniuk, most pedig Logan addig nem nyugszik, amíg vissza nem szerzi, és újra az övéké nem lesz. Szerencsére sikerül is neki, azonban arra nem számított, hogy ez azzal is jár, hogy egy olyan nővel is fog találkozni, aki teljes mértékben megváltoztatja az életét...

„No? Then what?”

„Character. Values. The need to make difference, create a legacy.”

Darcy Westbury a Badsley House szomszédságában működteti a saját családjának a birtokát, a Woolton Estate-t. Darcy rendkívül határozott, kedves, okos, egyáltalán nem fél kimondani azt, amit tényleg gondol, imádja a vidéki életet, és mindent, ami ezzel jár. Azonban az ő életébe is változást hoz az a titokzatos idegen, aki beköltözik a birtokuk szomszédságába. A nőnek, sőt az egész lakosságnak meggyűlt már a baja a városból érkező emberekkel, akik itt vásárolnak telkeket, ugyanis gyakran így vagy úgy, de megkeserítették az életüket. Ezért is, amikor Logan megveszi a Badsley House-t, kételkedve fogadják. Azonabn szerencsére kellemes meglepetés éri mindenkit, azonban Darcy még így is gyanakszik.

„The determination is key to success. Being able to fail and stand up, dust yourself off and try again is the most important thing you can do for yourself. Failure is the foundation of success.”

Darcy akarva-akaratlanul vonzódik a férfihez, és ezt nem is tudja sokáig letagadni. A vonzalom pedig kölcsönös, ugyanis Logan-t is lenyűgözi a nő szépsége, makacssága, határozottsága. Logan eddig nem arról volt híres, hogy ragaszkodik egy nőhöz. Egyáltalán nem, sőt, éppen az ellenkezője történt vele. Azonban Darcy már az első találkozásuk alkalmával lenyűgözte, ami megjegyzem, kicsit érdekesre és viccesre sikeredett. Hiszen mi is lehet annál jobb, mint úgy találkozni az új szomszédoddal, aki kifejezetten jóképű, mint beleesni a sárba, tetőtől-talpig tiszta kosz leszel, és még ráadásul a lovad is elszökik tőled? Emlékezetes első pillanatok, az biztos.

Logan és Darcy közelebb kerülnek egymáshoz, és egyre jobban megismerkednek. Ekkor jön el az a pillanat, amikor kiderül, hogy a férfi sokkal több annál, mint amiket írnak róla. A cége mellett egy olyan dolgot vezet, ami mindenképpen csodálatra méltó, én itt szerettem meg igazán. Eddig is nagyon szimpatikus volt, imádtam, ahogyan a nagymamájával bánt (még az ő karaktere volt zseniális), de ez a tette abszolút feltette az i-re a pontot. ♥

„Learn from your past, but don’t let that ruin your future.”

Louise Bay The Earl of London című alkotása nekem hatalmas kedvencem lett. Az írónő egy elképesztően jó és szórakoztató történetet alkotott, amit nagyon jól meg is írt. Egyáltalán nem volt az az érzésem, hogy hiányozna belőle valami, szerintem teljes egész történetet kaptunk. Az írásmódot imádtam, jól ki lett dolgozva minden, nagyon olvasmányos, egyszerűen nem lehet letenni. Darcy és Logan történtet teljes mértékben beszippantja az olvasót és nem is engedi el egészen az utolsó szóig. A két főszereplő mellett különösen kedvelhetőek a mellékszereplők, a legnagyobb kedvenceim Darcy és Logan mellett a férfi nagymamája, Aurora és Darcy testvére és párja. Csak nemrég jöttem rá, hogy neki is van egy saját könyve (Duke of Manhattan), amit már alig várom, hogy elkezdhessem.

„She’s my…everything. And she comes first.”

Mindent figyelembe véve, szerintem a The Earl of London teljes mértékben megérdemli az öt csillagot. Ez a könyv olyan, mint egy történelmi romantikus modern köntösbe öltöztetve. Nekem nagyon bejött, romantikus könyvek rajongóinak őszintén tudom ajánlani.

I have a new favourite author, and she is Louise Bay. She completely amazed me with The Earl of London. There is everything I need in good romance book: strong and tendentious heroine, an awesome male character, lots and lots of romance, some steamy scenes, funny moments and a lovely storyline. Believe me, you WANT to read this novel.

I absolutely loved this book from the begining to the end. I have started to read it early in the evening, and I could not put it down. Some hours later I have realized that it was already dawn and I had to force myself to stop reading and get some sleep. Logan and Darcy's story simply adorable, I was hooked from the first chapter.

The Earl of London is Logan Steele. He is a slef-made billionaire, the CEO of Steele Enterprises and a little bit more, but I will write about this 'little thing' later. He is intelligent, very-very good-looking and knows what he want. And now he wants to buy a beautiful estate near London, which is Badsley House, and it was owned by his family some times ago, but unfortunately, they had to sell it. Since then, Logan was determined to buy that estate, and finally, he manages to do so. But he does not know that he will meet with a woman, who will change his life...

Darcy Westbury runs her family estate, Woolton Estate, which is next to Badsley House. She is so tendentious, kind with everyone, clever, and she is not afraid to say out loud what she really thinks about different things. She adores living in the countryside, loves everything about it and wants to protect it. But that stranger, who moves next to their estate, changes her life too. She and also her neighbours had some really bad experiences with people who comes from the city and buy a house in their neighbourhood, because they cause a lot of problems. Because of that, when Logan moves in, they (well, especially Darcy) do not trust in him. But fortunately, he is a huge surprise, in a very good way, however, Darcy is still doubtful.

Darcy is attracted to Logan, and she can not deny it, and it is the same for Logan too. He is amazed by her beauty, stubborness and sturdiness. Before Darcy, he did not want to spend days with the same woman, but she changes it for him, he always thinks about her. Their first encounter is also unforgettable for both of them. Because what can be better than when you meet your new neighbour, who is also gorgeous and super good-looking, you fall into mud, you're dirty from your head to toes, and if it is not enough, your horse also manages to escape from you. Unforgettable? Pretty much.

Logan and Darcy get to know each other more, and that is when we explore that the man is a lot more than the thought about him. Besides her company, he runs a thing that amazed me, and made me love him even more. Before that, I already liked him a lot, he was so careful with her grandmother (I really liked her too), but this... you'll understand what I am talking about if you read it. Absolutley awesome. ♥

The Earl of London by Louise Bay became one of my biggest favourites. The author created a brilliant and very well-written book. I didn't feel that something was missing, I really do think that it is a complete story as it is. I loved the writing, it was so good, I couldn't put it down. Readers will be hooked by Darcy and Logan's story. Besides the two main characters, I really liked Logan's grandmother, Aurora and Darcy's brother and his wife, I think they are also adorable. I have just realized that Darcy's brother already has his own book (Duke of Manhattan), and I can't wait to start it!

Taking everything into account, The Earl of London honestly deserves five starts. For me, it is like a excellent historical romance set in the modern days, and I really liked it. I can highly recommend this book to reader who love romance books.
