De most komolyan, a könyv elolvasás után még mindig teljesen szótlan vagyok, nem tudom rendesen kifejezni, hogy mennyire is szerettem Charleigh Rose ezen alkotását. A Rewrite the Stars... Ez a könyv egyszerűen minden, amit reméltem, hogy lesz, és még egy kicsivel több is. Kicsivel? Nem, ez ennél sokkal, de sokkal több. Charleigh Rose egy ZSENIÁLIS ÍRÓNŐ, igen, így nagybetűkkel. Evan és Sebastian története az elejétől a végéig lenyűgöző, elképesztően jól felépített és nagyon egyedi. Nekem ez volt a legeslegelső könyv, amit az írónőtől olvastam, de már most azon gondolkozom, hogy melyikkel kellene folytatnom. Ha ez ilyen nagyszerű volt, akkor a többi is biztosan hasonlóan remek lesz. De most térjünk is vissza a Rewrite the Stars-ra, hiszen van mit bőven írni erről a gyönyörűséges történetről.

Evangeline (Evan) Thorne a regény legelején egy átlagos tizenhat éves lány. Látszólag mindene megvan: remek, szerető szülők, akikkel nagyon jó kapcsolatban van, barátok, kitűnő jegyek az iskolában. Azonban ez csak a felszín. Barátai nem igazán mondhatóak barátoknak, csupán egyvalakivel állnak nagyon közel egymáshoz, a többiekkel viszont egyáltalán nem a legjobb a kapcsolata. Egy, szüleivel való vitatkozás odáig elfajul, hogy a lány elszökik otthonról, szülei hívásaira és üzeneteire egyáltalán nem válaszol, egy idő után a telefonját is kikapcsolja, hogy egyáltalán ne tudja senki sem elérni. A szökése során talál rá egy vándorkarniválra, és itt találkozik legelőször Sebastiannal...

Sebastian (Bastian) McAllister már évek óta a karnivál tagja, aktívan fel is lép unokatestvéreivel, produkcióikkal hatalmas embertömegeket vonzanak be, főnökük legnagyobb örömére. Sebastian már régóta úgy tudja, hogy az ő családja már hosszú évek óta elátkozott, és így azt hiszi, hogy ez az átok az ő életét is befolyásolni fogja. Ennek következtében nem nagyon enged közel magához senkit, de legfőképpen lányokat nem.

Evan szökése során rátalál a Jessup Brothers Carnival-ra, ahol a Sons of Eartlake, azaz Sebastianék, rendszeresen fellépnek. A lányt rögtön elvarázsolja a karnivál, és megnézi a fiú egyik előadását, aminek később ő is a része lesz. Ezután ők ketten egy kicsit jobban megismerkednek. Az, hogy vonzódnak egymáshoz teljesen nyilvánvaló. A lányra viszont ekkor rátalálnak, és kettejük kapcsolata itt megszakad. Egy évvel később újra találkoznak, és ez egészen így megy a lány tizennyolcadik születésnapjáig. Ugyanis ekkor érkezik el az a pillanat, hogy Evan még egyszer elszökik, és csatlakozik a karniválhoz...

“You’re afraid of a lot,” he accuses with a wolfish smile.

“Maybe, you’re not afraid of enough,” I shoot back, surprising even myself. (…) “Dangerous stunts, breaking and entering… got a death wish, Sexy Sebastian?”

“Everyone’s gotta die sometime,” he says, shrugging. “At least I’m actually living in the meantime.”

A Rewrite the Stars-t legjobban ezzel a négy szóval tudnám jellemezni: csodás, varázslatos, érzelmes és lélegzetelállító. Azt nyugodtan ki merem jelenteni, hogy Charleigh Rose egy igazán tehetséges írónő. A karakterek nagyon jók, szerintem kifejezetten valóságosak, könnyen lehet velük azonosulni. Az írásmód egyszerűen szép, gyönyörűbbnél gyönyörűbb mondatokat, gondolatokat lehet benne találni. A könyv borítója engem már az első pillanattól kezdve lenyűgözött, ezzel a könyvvel kapcsolatban minden nagyon a helyén van.

És akkor most térjünk is rá a legeslegfontosabb részre: a karakterekre. Az írónő nagyszerű munkát végzett velük, mindegyikőjük nagyon összetett, ahogy már fentebb is említettem, könnyű velük azonosulni. Életük egyáltalán nem problémamentes, sőt, ennek éppen az ellenkezője. Mindegyikőjüknek megvan a saját maga problémája, amivel meg kell küzdeniük. Annyira jó volt látni, főleg a McAllisterek esetében, hogy milyen összetartóak, mennyire is segítőkészek, és bármi van, ott vannak a másik mellett, és teljes mértékben támogatják és óvják egymást.

Sebastian instant kedvencem lett, először azzal vett meg teljesen magának, ahogyan Evan-t kimentette a bajból, majd a történet kibontakozásával, egyre jobban és jobban megkedveltette magát. Az esetek többségében elérhetetlennek mutatta magát, de legbelül ő is egy nagyon érzékeny ember. Annak a bizonyos "átok"-nak a gondolata alaposan megbélyegezte az életét, ő azonban él és nem fél. Miután Evan is megjelenik, mindkettejük élete gyökeres fordulatot vesz. A kémia nagyon is jelen van közöttük, vonzódnak egymáshoz, és ez nagyon is egyértelmű a körülöttük lévők számára is, akik közül nem éppen mindenki tartozik a támogatóik közé. Sőt...

Mindenki azt hiszi, hogy pontosan ismerik Evan-t, és már mindent tudnak róla. Valójában ez egyáltalán nem így van, sőt, nagyon kevesen ismerik az igazi oldalát. Tény, hogy sokat változott a történet kezdete és vége között, de szerintem ez a változás pozitív értelemebe vehető. Bátrabb, erősebb, még önállóbb és kitartóbb lett, ezt pedig csak jónak lehet elkönyvelni. Szerintem ő egy kifejezetten szimpatikus könyves karakter, Sebastian-nal pedig tökéletesek együtt, tökéletesek egymás számára.

A többi McAllister fiú - Eros, Lathan és Tres - szintén hatalmas kedvenceim lettek, habár, kezdetben az egyikőjük (azt most nem árulom el, hogy melyikük), nem éppen volt a szimpatikusak közé sorolható, de később az ő tetteinek az indítékát is meg lehetett érteni. Remélem, hogy hamarosan az ö történeteiket is olvashatjuk. ♥

Rajtuk kívül még a könyv tele van szerethető és kevésbé kedvelhető karakterekkel, valamint van olyan is, aki egyáltalán nem az akinek mutatja magát. Számomra ez a fordulat meglepő és kiszámíthatatlan volt.

Mindent figyelembe véve, Charleigh Rose Rewrite the Stars című regénye egy igazi érzelmi hullámvasút, amely kérdés nélkül megérdemli az égen lévő összes létező csillagot. Talán még ez sem elég ahhoz, hogy kifejezzem, mennyire is imádtam ezt a könyvet, és hogy mennyire gyönyörűséges is Evan és Sebastian története.

Számomra a 2018-as év telis-tele van zseniálisabbnál zseniálisabb könyvekkel, aminek elképesztően örülök. Rengeteg hat csillagos kedvencet avattam eddig, és szerencsére ezek közé tartozik a Rewrite the Stars is. ♥ Kíváncsian várom, hogy mit tartogat még az év hátralévő része.

Seriously, after finishing this novel, I am completely speechless. Rewrite the Stars... This book is everything I hoped it would be. And a little bit more. A little bit? No, it is way more better than I hoped for. Charleigh Rose is a GENIOUS, yes, with capital letters. Evan and Sebastian's story is so beautiful from the very begining to the end, this story is mindblowing, very well written and completely unique. For me, this was the very first book I have ever read by this author, and right now I am thinking about what book should I read next by her. This book was so amazing, I hope that the others will be that good, too. But let's turn back to Rewrite the Stars, because there are a lot to say and write about it.

One of the protagonists is Evangeline (Evan) Thorne, who at the begining of the story is an usual sixteen years old teenager girl. We could think that she has everything she wants: great parents, and she has a good relationship with them, friends, good grades in school etc. But this is not the truth. Her friends are not really the people we can actually call friends, she has only one person, who is really close to her, but the others... well, not really. One day, she and her parents have an argument, a bad one, and because of that, she runs away, she does not responds to her parent's messages and calls, and she turns off her phone to be unattainable. During her run away, she finds a carnival, and that is when she firstly meets with Sebastian McAllister...

Sebastian (Bastian) McAllister is a member of a carnival, he usually performs with his cousins, and their performances always attracts a huge group of people to watch their show, and that makes their boss very happy. Sebastian and his whole family thinks that they are cursed, and he think that that curse will have an impact on his life, too. Because of that, he does not let people, especially girls, to get close to him.

Evan finds Jessup Brothers Carnival, where the Sons of Eastlake, a.k.a. Sebastian and his cousins, perform. She is completely mesmerized by the carnival, she goes to watch one of the show, and as a consequence, she becomes a part of it. After that, Evan and Sebastian spend some time together and get to know each other a little bit. They are attracted to each other, that is quite obvious. But unfortunately, her parents find out where she is, and that ruins their day. Because of that, the do not meet for one year, and this goes on until Evan is eighteen years old. What happens then? After her eighteenth birthday, she runs away with the carnival...

If I should describe Rewrite the Stars with only a few words, I would use these four: wonderful, magical, emotional and breathtaking. After reading this novel, I can honestly say that Charleigh Rose is a very talented author. The characters are so magnificent, I really do think that while reading this book you can feel that they are so real, and it is really easy to feel their feelings. The writing style is absolutely beautiful, this novel is full with so many lovely sentences and realy good ideas. From the very first moment, I was impressed by the cover of Rewrite the Stars, it is stunning, everything about this book is simply excellent and mindblowing.

Every summer comes to an end. Does that mean we shouldn’t enjoy the sun?

And now, let's talk about the most important part: the characters. The author did a very good job with them, they are all so complex, and as I have already mentioned above, they feel so real. Their lives are not easy at all, they all have problems, and they have to deal with these. It was so good to see that, especially in the case of McAllisters, they are there for each other, they are helpful, they support and help to everybody.

Sebastian instantly became my favourite one, firstly, he impressed me with how he helps to Evan when they first meet, and after that, as the story progresses, he becomes more and more loveable. Usually, he showed that he does not want to get close to anyone new, but he has an emotional side, too. That "curse" has a huge impact on his life, but he lives his life and he is not afraid. After Evan shows up, both of their lives changed forever. The chemistry is really there between them, they are attracted to each other, and it is very obvious to everyone around them, and not everyone is happy about that fact.

Everybody thinks that they know who is Evan, but the truth is that they do not. Moreover, very few people know really who is she. Yes, she change a lot between the begining and the end of the story, but I do think that it is a positive change. She becomes braver, stronger and more independent, and these are absolutely positives. I really do think that she is a good bookish female character, and she and Sebastian is an awesome couple, they are perfect together and perfect for each other.

The other McAllister boys - Eros, Lathan and Tres -, became my biggest favourites, too. However, at the begining, one of them (right now, I won't tell you who) was not really a likeable character, but later everything changed. I hope that one day, we can read their story, too. ♥

Besides them, there are some more loveable and not so likeable characters, also, there is someone who is not shows his or hers real side. This was a huge twist for me, it was surprising.

Taking everything into account, Rewrite the Stars by Charleigh Rose is an emotional roller coaster which deserves all the stars in the sky. Maybe, that is not even enough to show you how much I adore this novel, how truly beautiful is Evan and Sebastian's story. ♥

For me, 2018 is full with awesome novels, and I am so happy about that. I have already read so many books that I give six stars for, and fortunately, I can give six stars for Rewrite the Stars, too. ♥ I hope that the rest of this year will be full with amazing novels.
