Travis King is the worst kind of asshole.
He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards.
He’s cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes.
And I hate him.
It wouldn’t matter so much if he were avoidable.
But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to.
His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are a waste on such an egotistical man, which makes me hate him even more.
Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s always made that very clear.
He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed.
I’ve succumbed to his manwhore ways, but that doesn’t change a thing.
Because the King is about to get played at his own game—and lose.
Checkmate.

„This is war, King.”
„Game on, princess.”

Ooooké… MÉGIS MI VOLT EZ A BEFEJEZÉS??? Ezek a függővégek kikészítenek.

From being head over heels for him as a young girl to loathing him as a woman, Travis King needs to remember the golden rule-never admit defeat. It was game on.

We’re playing some fucked-up game of cat and mouse and in the end, we’ll realize it’s a trap for both of us.

Vajon mi fog kisülni ebből a helyzetből? Megtudhatjátok, ha elolvassátok Kennedy Fox This is War című regényét.

For some only-God-knows-why reason, my heart only beats for one man. My pulse only increases when he walks into the room. My cheeks flush and my body hums when he looks at me. I feel the blood in my veins as my skin heats from his very existence. He's the epitome of perfection. ...Too bad a decade later, he's a complete asshole. Travis King.

Viola Fisher may be off limits, but that doesn't stop the way my mind and body react to her. As much as I love to drive her insane, I can't deny the way she's always made me feel, even when we were kids who knew nothing about love at all.

5 csillagos kedvenc.

“This is war, King.”
“Game on, princess.”

Ooookay… WHAT WAS THAT ENDING??? These cliffhangers are killing me. Luckily, I have the second book in the series and I have already started it, so it’s not that hard, because I do not have to wait to read it. Kennedy Fox is one of my biggests favourite authors, they absolutely blown me away with Bishop Brothers (Taming Him, Needing Him and Chasing Him review coming soon, and I’m super excited for Keeping Him ♥), and now they completely amazed me with Travis and Viola’s emotional story. If you love enemies-to-lovers novels, This is War is your book. Why? Well, let’s see…

From being head over heels for him as a young girl to loathing him as a woman, Travis King needs to remember the golden rule-never admit defeat. It was game on.

Viola Fisher (22 years old) and Travis King (24 years old) were best friends when they were younger. They spent a lot of time together, could discussed basically anything with each other, could share their secrets, but that changed a lot one day, and a decade later they are almost enemies. In this book, there are some scenes from their past, and these focus on those day when they got to know each other, and there is a scene from that certain day, when Viola started to hate Travis. To be honest, while reading this part of this book, I cried a little. Gosh, for Viola, it could be so hard to hear such things from the person who is so close to her. Forunatley, later they talk about it, they tell everything, share their feelings, and finally I was so happy. When Travis tells his part of this story, and he reveals the truth, I have already suspected that he said those things because of something like that. I was so happy that there were no more misunderstanding between them. Viola and Travis are not a perfect couple, and they are not perfect seperately either, but they are good the way they are. They are imperfectly perfect.

We’re playing some fucked-up game of cat and mouse and in the end, we’ll realize it’s a trap for both of us.

Viola is still a student, more exactly a college student, Travis is already working at a company as a marketing executive, and he is pretty good in it. Viola's brother, Drew, works as a police and he is Travis' roommate. She visits her brother often because they have a close relationship, so she and Travis see each other more than they want to.
The spring break is nearly there, and instead of going home, Viola decides that she spends these days with her brother in his apartment. However, Travis and Viola just find out that Drew does not spend the break with them, he travels to somewhere, so they find themselves living under the same roof for the next two weeks. What happens with them? You'll find out if you read This is War by Kennedy Fox.

I can't even tell how much I love this book. I have already mentioned above that I adore Kennedy Fox's writings, and now, they made me love their books even more with the first novel in Checkmate series. This is War is a very well-written novel, it can be easily read, I love the authors style. All of the characters are complex, there are some you will love, and some you will definitely hate. Viola shows herself to be strong (and she is strong), but at the same time she has a very sensitive side too. Travis loves women. Yes, he does and he has a lot one night stands, he is a dirty talker and really cocky, he know that he is good-looking, but as the story progresses, we can get to know him more and more, and we learn that he is much more than that. He is very hard-working and dedicated in his job, and when he reveals his true feelings, he also shows us how awesome and a really good people is he. I loved their cat and mouse game, because of this, there were some really funny scenes too.
I adore Drew, firstly he made me curious in Bishop Brothers series, and now I can't wait to read his story too, because yes, he does have two books. ♥ I hate Alyssa and Mia, they made the main characters life more difficult, but I have a feeling that it was just the begining. I hope I am wrong.

Viola Fisher may be off limits, but that doesn't stop the way my mind and body react to her. As much as I love to drive her insane, I can't deny the way she's always made me feel, even when we were kids who knew nothing about love at all.

Taking everything into account, This is War by Kennedy Fox is an awesome enemies-to-lovers novel, an amazing start for a series filled with romance, lots and lots of funny and hilarious situations, great characters, steamy scenes and it has an ending that will make you crave for the next book. 5 stars favourite.
