Karina Halle megint megcsinálta. A Nothing Personal az egyik legeslegjobb romantikus-humoros második esélyes könyv amit eddig olvastam. ♥
Nagyon, de nagyon hamar a kedvencemmé vállt. Mostanában itthon nem éppen mondhatjuk, hogy csodálatos az idő, viszont az írónő egyenesen egy trópusi vidékre repíti az olvasóit, és meg kell hogy mondjam, annyira jó volt erről olvasni. Nyáron, de még lehet sokkal hamarabb is megint elő fogom venni, szerintem ezt a történetet egyszerűen nem lehet megunni. Igazán viszont szerintem Honolulun olvasva van egy jó kis hangulata. Na, majd egyszer. :D

A Nothing Personal női főszereplője Nova Lane, akinek az élete nem éppen abba az irányba tart, ahogy ő eltervezte, sőt, most kifejezetten nem akar rátalálni a szerencse. Először is, a barátja megcsalja őt miközben elutaztak pihenni, és emiatt azonnal el is akarja hagyni azt a helyet, és minél hamarabb haza szeretne kerülni.
Ezután azt gondolja, hogy ennél rosszabb már nem is lehetne ez a hét a számára, viszont ennél nagyobbat nem is tévedhetne. Amikor visszatér a nyaralásról, és az első munkanap bemegy dolgozni, akkor kiderül, hogy a főnöke, aki egy kifejezetten jó főnök volt, felmondott, és úgy tűnik, hogy ez már visszafordíthatatlan, nem fogja meggondolni magát, már ekkorra Honolulut is elhagyta.
Mondhatjuk, hogy Nova egy picit szomorú, de viszont egy olyan lehetőség lebeg így előtte, ami minden egyebet elfelejtet vele, hiszen így van rá esélye, hogy megkapja volt főnöke pozícióját, amiért mindidáig nagyon keményen dolgozott. Viszont életének legrosszabb hete még koránt sem ért véget, ugyanis hamar rájön, hogy bizony nem ő fogja megkapni az állást, hanem az egyik volt munkatársa, aki egyben a volt barátja is. Ez a személy pedig nem más, mint Kessler Rocha, aki öt teljes évvel ezelőtt darabokra törte Nova szívét,

Kessler Rocha már nem ugyanaz a férfi, aki öt évvel ezelőtt volt. Öt év hosszú idő, és ezalatt az ő élete is gyökeresen megváltozott. Továbbá, ő és Nova ugyanannak a szállodaláncnak voltak a dolgozói, volt egy viszonyuk is, viszont nem sokkal később szakításra került sor, ami Nova-nak a szívét teljesen összetörte, és ahogy már fentebb is említettem, a szakítás óta egyáltalán nem is látták egymást. Viszont öt évvel később Kessler ölébe hullik egy nagyszerű álláslehetőség, és hogy ha el is fogadja ezt, akkor ő lesz a Kahuna Hotels főnöke. És igen, ki ne fogadna el egy ilyen lehetőséget? Ő is így tesz, így Nova-val újra munkatársak lesznek. Vagyis pontosabban ő lesz a főnöke.
Az az egész együttműködés nem igazán működik. Nova még mindig nem békélt meg azzal, hogy nem ő kapta meg az állást, még mindig fájnak neki az öt évvel ezelőtt történtek, viszont ugyanakkor most is érez valamit a férfi iránt. Másrészről, Kessler-nek fogalma sincs, hogy a Nova-val való szakítása mit tett a lánnyal. Továbbá, ő is nagyon vonzónak találja a nőt. Vajon végül egy pár lesznek? Megtudhatjátok, ha elolvassátok Karina Halle Nothing Personal című regényét.

Karina Halle lenyűgözően csodálatosan ír. Én kifejezetten szeretem, hogy különböző könyveiben különböző tájakat, országokat mutat be az olvasóinak. Az egyik legnagyobb kedvencem tőle az A Nordic King, és már ebben is annyira imádtam, ahogy bemutatta Dániát. Már az erről a könyvről készült véleményezős bejegyzésemben (katt IDE, ha el szeretnétek olvasni) is megemlítettem, hogy én nagyon szeretek különböző idegen nyelveke tanulni, utazni, és ha ezek ötvöződnek egy regény során, akkor azt az adott történetet nagyon, de nagyon hamar meg tudom szeretni.
És pontosan ez is történt, amikor olvastam a Nothing Personal-t. Kezdjük ott, hogy az egész Hawaii-on, pontosabban Honolulun játszódik, ahová legalább egyszer mindenképpen el szeretnék jutni. Karian hihetetlenül szépséges leírásokat adott, imádtam ezeket olvasni, egyáltalán nem éreztem, hogy unalmas vagy túl sok/hosszú lenne egy-egy leíró rész, és ez egy hatalmas plusz pont nálam. Éééés még egy hatalmas plusz pontot gyűjtött be tőlem ez a kötet: hawaii nyelven íródott mondtok/szavak is feltűntek a történet során. Ezek pedig szerintem csak még érdekesebbé tették az egészet, imádtam olvasni az egész történetet és ezeket a kis mondatokat is. ♥ Most pedig, Karina miatt, már dán és hawaii nyelven is szeretnék megtanulni beszélni. :D ♥
Valójában, még mondhatjuk, hogy Karina Halle munkáságában egészen új vagyok, még szerintem csak négy könyvét olvastam, viszont azt tervezem, hogy sokkal, de sokkal többet fogok. Emiatt pedig ez volt a legeslegelső romantikus-humoros regényem tőle, és őszintén megmondva, sokkal, de sokkal jobb lett, mint amire számítottam. ANNYIRA NAGYON FANTASZTIKUS LETT. ♥ Talán ez volt az utolsó olyan olvasmányom, amit 2018 során kezdtem el és ebben az évben is fejeztem be, és szerintem kifejezetten tökéletes befejezése volt ennek az évnek. Aaaaanyira vicces volt, és nagyon úgy gondolom, hogy a Nothing Personal a romcom kategória egyik legjobbja. Az egyik legviccesebb regény, amit valaha is olvashattam. Az egész napomat feldobta. Elképesztően humoros, 100%-ig biztos vagyok benne, hogy minden egyes olvasónak mosolyt fog csalni az arcára. És itt most a fültől fülig érő mosolyról beszélek. Biztosan nagyon meg fog nevettetni. Ez tipikusan az a nagyon hangosan nevetős történet. Az a csirke. :D Hogyha elolvassátok, akkor megértitek, hogy itt miről beszélek. Bízzatok bennem, nagyon megéri. Másrészről viszont lesz néhány olyan jelenet is (na jó, nem néhány, hanem egy picivel azért több), amelybe simán bele lehet pirulni, ezeknél tényleg szinte lángolnak a lapok.

Karina Halle történetei mindig nagyon egyediek, az írásmódja, mint ahogy már fentebb is említettem, lenyűgöző, viszont a karakterei csak még jobban feldobják az egészet.
Nova egy hihetetlenül erős, határozott, céltudatos, de ugyanakkor nagyon jó humorérzékkel rendelkező nő. Kessler-t az első pillanattól kezdve nagyon imádtam, szerintem rendkívül jó ember, és zseniális apuka. Mindent megtett, amit tudott, sőt még többet is. A kisfia, Hunter, annyira imádnivaló, csak még inkább hozzátett a történethez, rengetegszer meg tudott nevettetni, kis cukiság volt. A többi mellékszereplő is hasonlóan nagyon jók voltak szerintem. Kate majdnem minden megszólalásával megnevettetett, én nagyon örülnék neki, ha ő is megkapná a saját könyvét, biztosan elolvasnám. A másik olyan karakter, akiben szerintem van annyi, hogy egy saját regénye legyen, az Teef. Annyira nagyon megkedveltem, egyszerűen hihetetlen ez a pasi. :D
Leginkább a romantikus-humoros kategóriába sorolható ez a könyv, és igen, telis-tele van humorosabbnál humorosabb jelenetekkel. Viszont vannak benne komolyabb, elgondolkodtató jelenetek is, amelyek során csak még inkább megismerhetjük a szereplőket, több dolgot is megtudhatunk róluk. Ezt a vicces és komolyabb oldalt Karina csodálatosan ötvözte, nem volt olyan érzésem, hogy az egyikből nagyon sok van, a másikból meg éppen kevesebb.

Mindent figyelembe véve, Karina Halle Nothing Personal című regénye egy igazi műalkotás. Teljes szívemből tudom ajánalni azoknak az olvasóknak, akik szeretik a romantikus-humoros, valamint a második esélyről szóló könyveket. Ha pedig még azokat is szeretitek, amelyekben az egyik főszereplő egy egyedülálló apuka, és a munkahelyi szerelem is fontos eleme a történetnek, akkor csak még inkább tudlak bíztatni titeket arra, hogy olvassátok el. Ez egy elképesztően romantikus regény rengeteg, de tényleg rengeteg humoros pillanattal megfűszerezve, és olyan karakterekkel van tele, akiket egyszerűen nem tudsz nem szeretni. Adjatok neki egy esélyt. Nagyon megéri.
Az összes aloha csillagot megérdemelné. Nekem hatcsillagos kedvencem, és ugyanakkor 2018 egyik legjobb regénye lett.

Karina Halle did it again. Nothing Personal is one of the best second chance-romcom standalone I have ever read. ♥
This book really easily became one of my biggest favourites. In Hungary, righ now, the weather is not really nice, but Karina wrote a story which takes place in a very sunny place, and it was soooooo good to read about. I'll definitely read it again next summer, or maybe sooner (I really do believe that this is the type of books that you just can't get enough of), but I think it really has a special feeling if you read it in Honolulu. One day, I hope I will read it there, too. :D

The heroine of Nothing Personal is Nova Lane, whose life is not going as she planned, moreover, she is pretty unlucky right now. Firstly, her boyfriend cheats on her while they are on a vacation and she immediately wants to leave. She thinks that nothing can make her situation more complicated, but she is wrong.
After that, when she gets back and go to work on the first weekday, she finds out that her boss, who is a very good boss, has just quit his job and it seems that he won't change his mind at all, he made his decision, and by the time Nova finds that out, he also left Honolulu, too.
Nova is kinda sad, but she think that the fact that her boss quit, it can mean that she may get his position she worked so hard to earn. But her worst week of her entire life continues when she finds out that she won't get the job. And not only she won't get it, her ex-coworker, who was also her ex-lover will get it. This person is Kessler Rocha, who broke Nova's heart five years ago, and since then they haven't met, the meeting when they found out that Kessler is the boss for three months is the first time they see each other again.

Kessler Rocha is not the same man he used to be five years ago. That's a lot of time, and lot of things have happened, but the most important is that he became a single dad to a three years old toddler. Now, he is his priority, he wants to support him in every way possible, and wants him to have a really good life, and he wants to be a good father for him.
Kessler is an ex-NHL player, something happened with him, and he couldn't continue playing hockey. But he didn't give up this sport, he still loves it. Also, he and Nova worked for the same hotel chain, they had an affair, but they broke up, Nova's heart was broken, and as I have already mentioned, they did not see each other for a very long time. But five years later, a job is offered for him, and if he takes it, he will be the boss of Kahuna Hotels. And of course, he takes it, and now Kessler and Nova are coworkers again. More importantly, Kessler is Nova's boss.
Their working together is not really working. Nova is still pissed, she is heartbroken, but at the same time, she still feels something for Kessler. On the other hand, Kessler has no idea that there is so much more behind their break up. And moreover, he is also attracted to Nova. Will they end up together? If you read Nothing Personal by Karina Halle, you can find out.

Karina Halle writes wonderfully. I extremely love that she describes different places in her books. One of my biggest favourites by her is A Nordic King, and in that novel I really adored the way she wrote about Denmark. I have already mentioned in my review of A Nordic King (click HERE to read it) that I love learning languages, I love travelling, and if these two are mixed in a book, well, I can really easily love it.
And that's what happened when I was reading Nothing Personal. It takes place in Hawaii, more exactly, in Honolulu, and I really would like to visit this place. Karina wrote incredibly beautiful descriptions, these parts wasn't boring and too long at all, I loved every word of these. Aaaaand, another big plus point: Hawaiian sentences/words did appear in this story too. These just made the whole book more interesting, I did enjoy reading the whole story and these little sentences, too. ♥ Now, because of Karina, I would love to learn speaking in Danish and in Hawaiian, too. :D ♥
Actually, I'm really new to Karina, I have only read I think four of her books, but I'm planning to read a lot more. Because of that, it was my very first romcom by her, and to be honest, this story is a lot more better than I thought it would be. It is SO SUPER FANTASTIC. ♥ Probably this was the last book I started and finished in 2018, and it was a perfect way to finish this year, too. It was sooooo hilarious, I really do believe that Nothing Personal is highly one of the bests in the romcom category. It is one of the funniest books I have ever read. This novel made my whole day. It's such a fun read and I am 100% sure that it will make you smile. And I'm talking about that ear-to-ear type of smiles. And it will totally make you laugh. Laugh out loud. That chicken. :D You'll understand what I am talking about if you read it. Believe me, it's totally worth it. On the other hand, there will be some scenes (okay, well, a lot), which will make you blush and will leave your Kindles on fire.

Karina Halle's stories are always so unique, her writing style, as I have already mentioned, is completely captivating, and her characters always make everything even better.
Nova is an incredibly strong, motivated, hard-working woman, who has also a funnier side too, she has a really good sense of humor. I adored Kessler from the very beginning, I really do think that he is an amazing person and a wonderful person. He did everything he could, and a lot more. Her little son, Hunter, is super adorable, I really loved every scene when he appeared, he always put a smile on my face, cuteness level 1000. ♥ Personally I believe that the secondary characters are also super good. Kate is incredible, I laughed almost every time she said something, I hope that maybe one day she gets her own story, I would definitely read it. Another character, I really loved is Teef, I would be more curious for his story.
I would say that this story is mostly romcom, however, it has some scenes which are not really funny. Some of them even make you really think about different things. These scenes also help us get to know the characters more and learn some things about their pasts. Karina mixed the funnier and not so funny thing in a genious way, I didn't feel that one of these is too much.

Taking everything into account, Nothing Personal by Karina Halle is a masterpiece. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who really loves romcoms and/or second chance romances. If you love single-dad and/or office romance, I would even recommend this novel to you more. I am pretty sure you will love it. This is such a romantic book with lots and lots and lots and lots of hilarious moments, full with amazing characters you can't help but love. Give it a chance. Worth it.
It really deserves all the aloha stars. Six stars from me, it is one of my biggest favourites in 2018.
