Jasmin Miller neve és írói munkássága már nem ismeretlen számomra, nem is olyan rég egy nagyon jó barátom megkért rá, hogy olvassam el az egyik könyvét, a Baking with a Rockstart-t. Mivel ő elég meggyőző volt, és szinte ódákat zengett erről a könyvről, és már csak azért is, mert mindig olyan jó regényeket tud nekem ajánlani, elkezdtem olvasni ezt a történetet is. És milyen jól is tettem. Szóval még egyszer köszönöm Laurának, hogy rávett arra, hogy végre elkezdjem olvasni az írónő történeteit. A Baking with a Rockstar egy elképesztően aranyos és imádnivaló történet, ami mellesleg rejt magában jónéhány váratlan fordulatot is.

Az írónő a legújabb regényének, a The Husband Checklist-nek, a megjelenése előtt megkeresett engem, hogy nem lenne-e kedvem elolvasni ezt a kötetet. Mivel már az előző könyvét is nagyon szerettem, ezért gyorsan igent is mondtam erre a szuper lehetőségre. Az már csak egy még nagyobb plusz pont volt, hogy a történetben a lány a bátyja legjobb barátjába lesz szerelmes, egyszerűen imádom az ilyen regényeket.

A The Husband Checklist egy kifejezetten édes történet, amit bátran tudok minden romantikakedvelőnek ajánlani, szerintem tökéletes kikapcsolódást fog nektek nyújtani Carter és Julia története. ♥

“And why on earth are you half naked? Do you usually open the door like this?”
“I’d just turned off the shower when I heard the bell ringing. After the tenth ring – not to mention the incessant banging – I thought it might be urgent, so I didn’t waste any more time by putting on clothes.”

A történet egyik főszereplője Julia, aki a történet elején egy nagyon kellemetlen szituáció közepén találja magát. A barátja, akivel már hosszabb ideje párkapcsolatban élt, épp most szakított vele, és azt nyugodtan kijelenthetjük, hogy ez az elválás nem éppen volt a legbarátságosabb, hiszen a férfi elég csúnya szavakkal vetett véget kapcsolatuknak.

Szóval a szakítás miatt költöznie kellett, viszont nem volt semmi olyan hely, ahová mehetett volna, kivéve a gyermekkori otthonát, ahol úgy tudta, hogy jelenleg a bátyja, Ollie lakik. Julia úgy dönt, hogy átmenetileg itt fogja meghúzni magát, amíg nem talál magának egy helyet, ahol lakhat. A szakítás után egyből ide is megy, azonban legnagyobb meglepetésére nem a testvérét, hanem Ollie legjobb barátját, Carter-t találja a házban. Aki, mellesleg, nem csak a bátyja legjobb barátja, hanem éppenséggel az, akibe már egészen kicsi kora óta szerelmes.

Carter, Julia és Ollie már egészen gyermekkoruk óta elválaszthatatlanok, rengeteg időt töltöttek együtt és számtalan közös emlékük van, azonban egy tragikus esemény hármójuk közé áll.

Carter-t mindenki úgy ismeri, mint a srác, aki nem akar szerelembe esni és nem is tervezi, hogy egyáltalán családot alapít. Mármint úgy egyáltalán nem. Soha, de soha. De vajon mi történik akkor, amikor Julia visszatér, és konkrétan együtt élnek? Az, hogy vonzalom van köztük, azt le sem tagadhatnák. De mi van akkor, ha Julia többet szeretne, viszont jól tudja, hogy Carter-nek nem éppen ilyen az elképzelt jövőképe? Már párszor használtam ezt a szót az értékelésemben, de szerintem ha csak egy szóval kellene jellemeznem ezt a regényt, akkor azt mondanám, hogy imádnivaló. Mert pontosan ez volt.

Julia szerintem egy nagyon jó női karakter, habár vele nem voltam mindig kibékülve. Azt hittem, hogy a szakítás után egy kicsit több időt hagy magának, nekem egy picit túl gyors volt, ahogy mindenbe beleugrott. A könyv második felében egy kicsit jobban felgyorsulnak az események, ami szerintem néha egy picit túl gyors volt, szerintem csak ennyi negatíumot tudnék felhozni ezzel a könyvvel kapcsolatban.

Carter viszont... Te jó ég. Imádom. Nagyon, de nagyon. Abszolút meg lehetett érteni őt is, hogy miért nem áll szándékában romantikus kapcsolatba elegyedni bárkivel, az édesanyjával közös jeleneteit kifejezetten szerettem, szerintem nagyon jót tettek Carter karakterének.

Julia testvéréről is egészen sokat olvashatunk ebben a regényben. Ő már itt megkapta a saját happy endjét, nagyon boldog kapcsolatban él Cora-val. Mindketten nagyon, de nagyon szerethető karakterek, és annyira nagyon illenek egymáshoz, én nagyon örülnék, ha egy nap az ő történetüket is elolvashatnám. ♥ És szerintem ezzel még sokan így vannak. Én nagyon bízom benne, hogy Jasmin megírja majd. ♥

Her eyes snap back to mine as I nod, releasing a breath at the same moment I tear the paper in half.

Her husband checklist.

“I know I will never be everything you put on here.”

“But let me assure you I will try my hardest to be everything you need.”

Mindent figyelembe véve, Jasmin Miller The Husband Checklist című regénye egy elképesztően imádnivaló történetet mesél el. Fölösleges drámától abszolút mentes. A karaktereket könnyen a szívedbe tudod zárni, rendkívül könnyen olvasható, és ezekre a hideg napokra pontosan egy nagyon tökéletes olvasmány, abszolút megmelengeti az olvasó szívét. ♥

Before I started reading The Husband Checklist, Jasmin Miller was not a new-to-me author, I was already familiar with her work. One of my amazing friends asked me to read a novel by her, Baking with a Rockstar, and because I really trust her and she always recommends the best books to me, I started reading it. And I am so glad I did and that I listened to her and picked up this book. So special thanks to Laura for recommending and pushing me to read Jasmin Miller's stories. Baking with a Rockstar is an extremely cute and incredibly adorable story, and it is not only super loveable, there are some twist that you will not see coming.

Before the release of her newest novel, The Husband Checklist, Jasmin wrote a message to me and asked me if I wanted to read an advance review copy of that book. Because I really adored Baking with a Rockstar by her, I instantly said yes to this amazing opportunity. It was absolutely a huge bonus point for me that it is a brother's-best-friend romance novel, I am a sucker for those, so yeah, I was pretty excited to start reading this novel.

The Husband Checklist is a super sweet book that I can highly recommend to romance readers. Just forget about everything and let's dive into Julia and Carter's story.

The heroine of this novel is called Julia, who finds herself in a very unpleasant situation at the beginning of the story. Her boyfriend, with whom she spent years and they were kinda in a serious relationship, broke up with her, and that break up was not really the best, because her now ex-boyfriend said some very bad things about her, and why he wasn't satisfied with their relationship.

So, after the break up, Julia has to find a place to live, and she does not really know any other than the house in which she grew up. Julie decides that until she finds another place to live, she will stay there. Up until that point, she thinks that only his brother lives there, but when she arrives, she only find her brother's best friend, Carter, there. Who is, besides being her brother's best friend, is the man who has her heart since they were very little kids.

Carter, Julia and Ollie were pretty close to each other when they were little, they spent a lot of time together and now they have so many good memories to remeber. But a tragedy changed everything.

Everyone knows Carter as a playboy, who does not want to fall in love with anyone, and who does not want to have a family of his own. Like ever. Like never ever. But what happens, when Julia is back and they basically live together under the same roof? They can deny that there is something between them, they are attracted to each other. Julia would love to have a serious relationship, but she knows well that Carter does not want it. What happens with them? You can find out if you read The Husband Checklist by Jasmin Miller. ♥

I have already used this word in this review, but I really do think that if I had to say only one word about this book, I would say adorable. Because it was definitely adorable.

I think that Julia is an awesome bookish heroine, however, I did not really like her at some points of the novel. Don't get me wrong, she has an amazing personality. But I thought that she will give some more time for herself after the break up to heal, and I felt that she jumped into things to quickly. The second half of the book was a little bit quicker, and I would love if there was more time for her and Carter, but I think these are the only things I did not really like in this novel.

But Carter... Oh. My. Goodness. I adore him. So very much. When I found out more about his past and his situation, I could absolutely understand why he felt a little bit unsure about being in a relationship with anyone. I really loved the parts when he is talking with her mother, I think those made him an evem more fantastic character.

We can read a lot about Julia's brother too in this novel. He does have his own happily ever after now, he is in a very serious relationship with her girlfriend, whose name is Cora. Both of them are absolutely loveable characters, and I would be so happy if Jasmin would write their story too, I would love to read more about them. ♥ I think lots of readers think the very same. I hope it will happen, fingers crossed. ♥

Taking everything into account, The Husband Checklist by Jasmin Miller is an absolutely adorable novel. There is no unnecessary drama at all. The characters are so loveable, the book can be easily and quickly read, it is unputdownable, and it is a perfect read for these cold days, it will totally melt every reader's heart. ♥

I give this book four stars out of the five.
