Cora Reilly Sins of the Fathers című sorozatának második kötete, a By Sin I Rise – Part Two, várhatóan 2021. december 15.-én fog megjelenni. Ez a kötet nem olvasható csak magában, szükséges hozzá ismerni a By Sin I Rise – Part One cselekményét, hiszen a második részben is Marcella és Maddox van a főszerepben.

Bennem még mindig elég vegyes érzelmek kavarognak az első rész elolvasása után, nem mondom, hogy rossz volt, de azt sem, hogy jó. Ebben a bejegyzésben egy kicsit bővebben is írok róla, hogy miért nem nyerte el a tetszésemet a Sins of the Fathers nyitókötete. Ettől függetlenül valószínűleg el fogom olvasni a második részt, hiszen kíváncsi vagyok rá, hogyan zárul Marcella és Maddox története.

Akkor is elfogott engem ez a „nem is rossz, de nem is jó” érzés, amikor megláttam a By Sin I Rise duológiának a borítóit. Azt nem tudom mondani, hogy csúnyák, mert nem azok, de nekem valahogy ebből a borító összeállításból hiányzik az összhang. Mikor Cora bejelentette ezt a sorozatot, én valami nagyobb durranásra számítottam a borítók tekintetében is. Ha ránézek a By Sin I Rise borítóira, elfog az az érzés, hogy fogtak egy fekete-fehér fotót, ráillesztették a címet és az írónő nevét, kész is, két perc, meg is van a borító. Titkon bíztam benne, hogy majd ezek a kötetek is illusztrált borítókkal fognak megjelenni (a Born in Blood Mafia Chronicleshöz hasonlókkal), de sajnos ez nem így történt.

By Sin I Rise – Part Two by Cora Reilly is expected to be released on December 15, 2021. It will be the second book in the Sins of the Fathers series, and it can not be read as a standalone. The first book ends on a cliffhanger, and the second will continue Marcella and Maddox’s story.

I still have very very mixed feelings about the first part of the By Sin I Rise duology, I am not saying that it was bad, but it was not good either. I have already shared a mini review about this novel, if you are interested in reading it, just click here. Though I did not really like the first book, I think I will most definitely read the second one, because I would love to know what happens with Marcella and Maddox.

When I saw the covers for Part One and Part Two for the very first time, just as after reading Part One, I felt that they are “not good, but not bad.” I am not saying that these are ugly, because they are not, but in my opinion the harmony is missing from the cover design. When Cora announced this series, I thought the covers would be mindblowing. But now, if I look at them, I only feel that they searched for a black and white picture, added the title and the author, and done, they got a cover. To be honest, I hoped the covers for the Sins of the Fathers novels would be similar to the Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles ones (I mean the illustrated covers). They could have been so epic, but unfortunately, I can not use this word to describe the Part One and Part Two covers.
