I go into this knowing I’ll hate every second in his presence. Except the longer he’s around, the more I find myself staring at his lips and remembering the one time they were on mine. I randomly find myself looking at his hands and wondering how they’d feel on my skin.

I try to snap out of it, but I guess I’m not as smart as I thought I was. No matter how many times I remind myself of the times I’ve practically thrown myself at him and he’s pushed me away, I keep falling little by little.

I’d always heard that it was a bad idea to mix business with pleasure and if that’s the case, this thing with Nathaniel has demise written all over it.

Egyszerűen elképesztő, ahogyan Claire Contreras a szavakkal bánik. A The Consequence of Falling előtt csupán egy könyvet olvastam tőle, ez pedig az Üvegszív volt. Ez a történet ici-pici darabokra tört, ha egy igazán megható és nagyon sírós könyvre vágytok, akkor mindenképpen adjatok ennek a regénynek is egy esélyt.

A The Consequence of Falling már a borítóleleplezés napján felkeltette az érdeklődésemet, hiszen csak nézzetek rá erre a gyönyörűségre. ♥ Hihetetlenül gyönyörűséges, csakúgy mint maga a történet.

I’d been taught to sit up, agree, and smile. I was tired of smiling. I was done pretending. It was my turn to live the life I wanted to live.

A történet női főszereplője Presley, akinek a szülei a történet elején bejelentik, hogy elválnak és inkább külön folytatják tovább az életüket. Mindez akkor történik, amikor a lány tizenöt éves, és ez igencsak nagy hatással lesz az életére. Presley egyszerűen nem akarja elfogadni, hogy szépen lassan elkezd széthullani a családjuk. Az pedig végképp nem segít a helyzetén, amikor egy nap az édesapja helyett más megy érte az iskolához. A férfi megígérte neki, hogy mire végez, addigra ott lesz, ám amikor a lány beszáll a kocsiba egy idegen, de nagyon is jóképű fiút talál a kormány mögött.

Az autót a tőle három évvel idősebb Nathaniel Bradley vezeti, aki már több éve Presley édesapjának dolgozik, ők ketten viszont ezen a napon találkoznak először, az első találkozásuk pedig nem éppen mondható gondmentesnek, a lánynak szinte azonnal ellenszenves Nathaniel.

Ezután néhány évet ugrunk az időben. Presley éppen bálba készül, és mivel a kísérőjével gondok akadtak, emiatt pedig évek óta először újra találkozik Nathaniel-lel. Ezután ismét ugrunk az időben, és itt már mindketten egyetemisták, és ugyanabba az iskolába járnak. Presley a barátnőivel buliba készül, ahol ismét összefut a Nathaniel-lel, viszont ezen az éjszakán egy másik férfi is belép az életébe, aki igen fontos lesz a számára.

Újabb időbeli ugrás következik, méghozzá Presley esküvőjének napjára, amikor valami igazán váratlan történik közte és Nathaniel között, ami bizonytalanná teszi a nőt.

Az utolsó időugrással a jelenbe érkezünk, amikor is Presley egy igen csúnya váláson megy keresztül. Ennek viszont, furcsa is ezt mondani, de van egy jó oldala, hiszen ismét közel került az édesapjához, és ez mindenképpen pozitívnak könyvelhető el. Presley mostmár készen áll arra, hogy beszálljon az apja vállalkozásába és vele együtt dolgozzon, azonban a férfinak vannak más tervei is, és a lány első napján rögtön egy hatalmas meglepetés éri őt. Ez a meglepetés pedig az ő szempontjából nem igazán mondható pozitívnak, ugyanis ettől kezdve Nathaniel-nek is nagy része van ebben a cégben. Nathaniel Bradley ekkor már egy igazán sikeres üzletember, és készen áll arra, hogy ezt a vállalkozást is még jobban fejlessze. Így viszont ő és Presley minden egyes nap találkoznak egymással, és azt, hogy vonzódnak egymáshoz szinte le sem tudják tagadni.

Vajon ez a vonzalom átalakul valami egészen mássá? Megtudhatjátok, ha elolvassátok Claire Contreras legújabb lenyűgöző regényét, a The Consequence of Falling-ot.

Ahogy már fentebb is említettem, Claire Contreras írói stílusa egyszerűen lenyűgöző. Imádom, hogy nagyon érzelmekkel teli és szenvedélyes ez a történet, de ugyanakkor az írónő mégis képes volt humorosabb pillanatokat is belerakni, és ez csak még jobban feldobta az egészet. A karakterei pedig abszolút felrakták az i-re a pontot.

Presley szerintem egy igazán jó női karakter. Tetszett, hogy határozott, kedves és vicces volt, viszont voltak pillanatai amikor szerintem már egy picit túlzásba viszi a dolgokat, de ettől eltekintve szerintem szimpatikus volt.

A másik nagy kedvencem pedig egyértelműen Nathaniel volt. Úrsiten! ♥ Annyira lenyűgöző, és nagyszerű és ahh... Imádtam. Annyira imádtam. ♥

Mindent figyelembe véve, Claire Contreras The Consequence of Falling című alkotás egy lenyűgözően szép történetet mesél el. Ha már olvastatok az írónőtől, akkor szerintem ez is el fogja nyerni a tetszéseteket. Ha pedig még esetleg nem, akkor mindenképpen adjatok ennek a regénynek egy esélyt, ez szerintem a legtökéletesebb arra, hogy elkezdjetek tőle is olvasni. Ha pedig még ráadásul szeretitek is az olyan könyveket, amelyek az utálatból-szerelem témáját dolgozzák fel, akkor pedig ez egy kötelező olvasmány a számotokra.

The writing style of Claire Contreras is simply mesmerizing. Before The Consequence of Falling, I have only read Kaleidoscope Hearts by her. This novel broke my heart into tiny pieces, if you want to read something really emotional and cry-worthy, then go grab it and start reading it.

The Consequence of Falling caught my attention when its cover was revealed, because just look at that super gorgeous cover. ♥ It is incredibly awesome, just as the story itself.

I’d been taught to sit up, agree, and smile. I was tired of smiling. I was done pretending. It was my turn to live the life I wanted to live.

The heroine of The Consequence of Falling is Presley, whose parents announce at the begining of the story that they want to get a divorce and continue their lives separately. This happens when she is only fifteen years old, and it has a great effect on her life. She doesn't want to accept that her family is slowly falling apart. Not to mention the fact when one day, her father promised her that he will pik her up from school, but it doesn't happen, she is just waiting and waiting but nobody comes. But when a familiar car arrives to the school, she jumps in and finds an stranger behind the wheel.

That stranger is Nathaniel Bradley, who is right now three years older then Presley. He claims that he has been working for her father for years, but they firstly meet that day. And that meeting is a little bit problematic, Presley does not like him at all.

Then, a few years later she is getting ready for the prom, and she is going alone because their were some problems with her boyfriend. That day, she and Nathaniel meet again. Then, again we see them a few years later, when they are both university students and they both go to the same one. That night, Presley is going to a party with her friends, and here she and Nathaniel meet again, but that night, another man makes his way into her life.

A few years later, we see Presley on her wedding day when something really unexpected happens between she and Nathaniel, which makes her question basically everything.

A few years later, Presley is going through a divorce. But this, it's weird to say, has a good side too, because she gets close to her father again, and this is really positive. She is now ready to jump into business and work for her father, but he has another plans too, and on Presley's first day, he manages to surprise her, but for her, it is not a very good surprise. This big news is that from now on, Nathaniel is her father's business partner.

Nathaniel Bradley is now a successful man and he is more than ready to make Presley's father's company even better. Because of that, he and Presley meet very often and they can not deny the fact that they are attracted to each other.

But can this attraction transform into anything more? You can find out if you read Claire Contreras' newest amazing novel, The Consequence of Falling.

As I have already mentioned above, I absolutely love the writing style of Claire Contreras. I love that this story is so emotinal and full with passion, but at the same time, there are funny moments too which make the whole story even more awesome. Her characters... They are incredibly amazing.

I really do think that Presley is a really good heroine. I liked that she was hard working, determined, funny, however, there were some moments when I felt that she was a little bit too much, but apart from these I really liked her.

And my biggest favourite is Nathaniel. OMG! ♥ He is so amazing, and fantastic and ahh... He is everything. ♥ Loved him so much.

With him, I felt like I’d gotten more than what I bargained for, and everything I never knew I wanted.

Taking everything into account, The Consequence of Falling by Claire Contreras is an amazingly beautiful novel. If you have read any other book by her, I think you will like this one too. If you have not yet, this is a perfect way to start reading her books. Moreover, if you love enemies-to-lovers romance stories, then this one is a must read for you.
