Viktor és Rosalie könyvére már a Taken by a Sinner
olvasása óta türelmetlenül vártam, hiszen már ebben is olvashatunk arról a
bizonyos eseményről, amelynek köszönhetően ők ketten megismerik egymást.
Őszintén megmondva a Priesthood tagjai közül az ő történetükre voltam a
legjobban kíváncsi. A Taken by a Sinner nekem nagyon tetszett, ez volt az első
könyvem Michelle Heard írónőtől, így nagy lelkesen vetettem bele magam a
Sinners sorozat második kötetének olvasásába, ami nem más, mint az Owned by a
Sinner. Na, hát ez már közel sem nyújtott olyan kellemes olvasási élményt, mint
az első (igen, végigolvastam, nem hagytam félbe, és ez még engem is meglepett). Akkorát csalódtam benne, hogy egy kicsit abba is maradt a lelkesedésem
a sorozat iránt, és egészen az ötödik kötet megjelenéséig egyet sem olvastam
el. Be kell valljam, hogy teljesen elfelejtkeztem róla, hogy a Captured by a
Sinner már meg is jelent, így mikor erre felfigyeltem, annyira megörültem, hogy
végre olvashatok egy olyan párról, akik iránt őszintén érdeklődőm, hogy még
aznap este bele is vetettem magam az olvasásába. Rövid időn belül a végére is
értem, és azt kell mondjam, hogy hozta az első kötet szintjét. Nem volt
tökéletes, voltak apróbb problémáim vele, ezekről majd később mesélek, de
összességében teljesen jó volt.

A történet főhősnője Rosalie Manno, akivel, ahogy már
fentebb is említettem, egy nagyon rövid ideig a Taken by a Sinner-ben is találkozhattunk.
A Captured by a Sinner legelején pedig visszatérünk ebbe az időszakba. Rosalie
ekkor még egy teljesen átlagos 17 éves tinédzser, annak ellenére, hogy a
családja legtöbb tagja maffiatevékenységeket folytat. A lányt mindennél jobban
óvják az életüknek ezen oldalától, szinte semmit sem tud arról, hogy valójában
mivel is foglalkozik a családja. Azonban eljön az a nap is, amikor a
családtagjainak meg kell fizetniük bűntetteikért. Rosalie szemtanúja lesz a
kivégzésüknek, majd ezt követően őt is elrabolják, mégpedig nem más, mint
Viktor Vetrov, az orosz maffia vezetője.
Viktor ekkor elhatározza, hogy a huszonegyedik születésnapja után szabadon fogja engedni a lányt. De vajon olyan könnyű lesz ezt megtennie, mint ahogy azt ő gondolja? Megtudhatjátok, ha elolvassátok Michelle Heard Captured by a Sinner című alkotását.

her hand, I pull her off the bed. When she’s standing in front of me, I gesture
at the stars tattooed on my shoulders. “I have them tattooed right above my
knees as well. It means, as the head of the bratva, I don’t kneel before
anyone.”
“Okay,”
she murmurs, looking a little confused.
Then
I drop down to my knees in front of her. It takes a moment for Rosalie to
realize what I’m trying to say.
“I’ll
only kneel before you, moya Malen’kaya Roza.” ❞
Bár a Captured by a Sinner az írónő Sinners sorozatának ötödik része, szerintem teljesen megállja a helyét egyedülálló kötetként is. Én sem olvastam a harmadik és negyedik könyvet, mégsem éreztem, hogy bármely történés emiatt homályos lenne számomra. Szóval, ha csak ez a regény érdekel titeket az egész sorozatból, akkor bátran vágjatok bele az olvasásába.
Rosalie és Viktor kapcsolatában az ellenséges érzelmek igencsak gyorsan átalakulnak szerelemmé, és érdekes módon engem ezúttal ez engem egyáltalán nem zavart. Általában az ilyen típusú történeteket nem igazán szoktam szeretni, elkapkodottnak érzem őket, de az írónő olyan jól megoldotta, hogy teljesen élvezhető és természetes volt. Kettejük története rendkívül érzelmesre sikeredett, több jelenetet megkönnyeztem. Imádtam őket együtt, bár a vége felé Rosalie egy kicsit idegesített, de ettől eltekintve szerintem ők ketten nagyon jó párt alkotnak együtt.
A könyv két harmada teljesen tökéletes volt, telis-tele
volt izgalommal és romantikával, de utána eléggé ellaposodott az egész. A végén
szinte már csak annyi történt, hogy egymást követték az újabb és újabb intim
jelenetek, és ezek engem borzalmasan untattak. Sokkal szívesebben olvastam
volna valamiféle meghatóbb közös jövőbeli pillanatról, mint például esküvő,
terhesség, az első gyermek megszületése. Bármi más jobb lett volna, mint ezek a
random szexjelenetek.
A mellékszereplők közül leginkább Alexei és Isabella keltette fel az érdeklődésemet, nagyon bíztam benne, hogy róluk is olvashatok majd a későbbiekben, és egy kis kutakodás után ki is derítettem, hogy nekik bizony már van egy saját könyvük (ha bárki kíváncsi lenne rá, Tears of Salvation címmel találhatjátok meg).

Mindent figyelembe véve, Michelle Heard Captured by a Sinner című alkotása egy felejthetetlen, rendkívül izgalmas és érzelmes olvasmány. Bár tény, hogy volt bennem egy kis aggodalom a sorozat második könyve által okozott csalódás miatt, de minden létező kétségem szertefoszlott Viktor és Rosalie történetének első néhány sorának elolvasása után. Bátran merem ajánlani minden dark romance rajongónak.

I had been impatiently waiting for the story of Viktor and Rosalie since I had read Taken by a Sinner, because in that book, we can read about how they first meet each other. To be completely honest, out of the members of the Priesthood, I was mostly excited for their story. I really enjoyed Taken by a Sinner, it was my very first book by Michelle Heard, I could not wait to read more about these characters, so I picked up Owned by a Sinner too. Well, unfortunately, I must say that it was not a very pleasant reading experience. I felt so disappointed after finishing it (yes, I actually finished it, and did not dnf it, and honestly, I am still surprised that I did not dnf it) that I kinda lost interest in the whole series, and until the release of the fifth book, I have not picked up any books from this series.
I actually forgot that Captured by a Sinner was supposed to be released this month, so when I found it out by scrolling through Instagram, I got so excited that finally I can read about a couple I am wholeheartedly excited for. I finished it super quickly, and I must say that it was just as good as the first one. It was not perfect, there were some things I did not really like, but all in all, it was an enjoyable story.

The heroine of this book is Rosalie Manno, as as I have already mentioned above, we can already meet her for a brief second in Taken by a Sinner. At the beginning of Captured by a Sinner, we go back to the time of that important event. Back then, Rosalie is just a normal 17 years old teenage girl, well, as normal as she can be while having family members who are members of the mafia. They want to protect her from that side of their life, so basically, she hardly knows anything about what her family does for a living. But one day, they all have to pay for their sins. Rosalie is forced to watch how the Priesthood wipes out her entire family, and then, she is kidnapped by the head of the bratva, Viktor Vetrov.
Viktor decides that after Rosalie turns 21 years old, he will let her go. But will letting her go be just as easy as he imagines? You can find out if you decide to read Captured by a Sinner by Michelle Heard.

Although Captured by a Sinner is the fifth book in the Sinner series, in my opinion, it can be read as a standalone. I have not read Stolen by a Sinner and Chosen by a Sinner, and while I was reading Viktor and Rosalie’s story, I did not get a feeling that I was missing out on something just because of not knowing what happens in those books. So, if you are interested only in this book, trust me, you can read it.
For the most part, this story is perfectly entertaining, it was filled with action and romantic moments, but the last third of it was kinda boring. Near the end of Captured by a Sinner, there are a lot more sex scenes, it is just a big sequence of sex scenes, and I was bored out of my mind. Instead of these, I would have loved to read about more emotional future scenes, for example about their wedding, pregnacy, the birth of their first child or literally anything else, just not that. Anything else would have been better than just random sex scenes.
Out of the secondary characters, my biggest favourites are definitely Alexei and Isabella, and while I was reading this book, I really hoped that I would be able to read more about them in the future, and I was so happy when I found out that they already have their own story (titled Tears of Salvation, if anyone is interested).

Taking everything into account, Captured by a Sinner by Michelle Heard is an unforgettable, incredibly exciting and emotional book. Although I had mixed feelings before I started reading it because I did not like the second book in this series, all my doubt vanished after reading a few sentences from Viktor and Rosalie’s story. I can highly recommend it to everyone who loves dark romances.
